Hi, I’m Linda and I’m delighted to welcome you to Health Reset After 60, a resource to teach you how to reclaim your health and vitality, and add years to your life.
I was born and raised in Australia, am a mum to two wonderful daughters, and grandma to a sweet grand daughter. I’ve just completed my Diploma in Nutrition at university and am also a certified Food and Nutrition coach. I’ll be sharing all I’ve learned, together with my own research, in this blog. My aim is to create a site filled with nutrition, health, and lifestyle information that’s relevant to 60+ women.
I’m also on my own health reset journey after being diagnosed with hypertension by my doctor. At uni we studied a lot of evidence-based research that found dietary and lifestyle changes to be very effective in lowering blood pressure so I’ll be putting all that into practice over the coming months. My philosophy on resetting your health after 60 is that even after neglecting it for a number of years, your body has the amazing capability to turn poor health around.
Life gets busy – working, raising families, looking after aging parents – so it’s easy to put off doing the healthy things we know we should – until we start getting those aches and pains, not feeling so great, lacking in energy, and dealing with a foggy brain. Our blood pressure starts creeping up, as does our blood glucose and cholesterol numbers, our bone density levels aren’t looking great, we have gut issues, inflammation is out of control, and alarm bells start ringing.
This all seems to start happening in our late 50’s, early 60’s, and we get THE wakeup call that if we don’t start doing something now, we’re looking down the barrel of a chronic disease – type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, some cancers, osteoporosis, and dementia just to name a few.
You may be at that place where you need to take stock of your health and do something serious to turn your health around. A health reset if you will.
